Hawksmoor – Spitafields
A well loved and highly respected restaurant, Hawksmoor is an essential recommendation as one of the best steakhouses to try in London. They have several branches across the city including Spitafields, Guildhall, Knightsbridge and Covent Gardens. You will taste some of the finest of British beef here. Sink your teeth into delicious servings such as their sumptuous ribeye steak, potted beef, chateaubriand steak with potatoes or chips and many more. They have a plethora of steak main courses and their servings are generous (i.e. go here when you’re really ready to eat). Plenty of wine and cocktails are readily available too. Hawksmoor is one of the best restaurants for eating steak in the city. Prices are on the higher side but certainly worth it, give them a try if you haven’t already!

JW Steakhouse – Marble Arch
One of the cities premier steak restaurants, JW Steakhouse in Park Lane, Mayfair, offers fine, tender hand cut pieces of prime beef. Their steak and chops range with Béarnaise sauce is particularly tasty as is their fillet steaks. They also will be offering new exclusive meats such as Galician Beef and if it’s half as satisfying as their current menu we hope it arrives soon! Enjoy a host of cocktails, wines and non-alcoholic drink selection. They also have mouthwatering desserts to complete the feast, including strawberry sundae and especially their excellent cheesecake, a favourite among many of their customers.

Steak and Lobster – Marble Arch
With bases in Marble Arch, Warren Street and Bloomsbury (near Covent Garden), Steak and Lobster is a great place to eat in Central London. Their main course menu is very tempting but perhaps their most headline feature is an option for a whopping 16oz Ribeye Steak that’s cooked to your preference. There’s also steamed/grilled whole lobster if that takes your fancy. An exquisite selection of steak and caramelised onion focaccia with freshly cut chips, or steak and ale pie, simply delicious as a lunchtime serving.

Steak & Co – St Martins Lane
Located in South Kensington, Charing Cross Road, Garrick Street and St Martins Lane, you can find sizzling, delicious steak dishes at Steak and Co. Whether it’s the fillet steak with red wine sauce, peppered steak or ribeye, their food is full of flavour.
A rather unique aspect of this restaurant is they serve the beef rare on a hot stone. You can choose to have it as is, or leave it to cook till medium or well done complete with your choice of seasoning and/or butter. Excellent stuff!

Marco Pierre White Steak and Alehouse – Spitafields
A traditional steakhouse serving a sumptuous range of steak cuts and other classic English dishes, Marco Pierre White Steak and Alehouse offers a great experience. Their service is quality and their food even higher, with special offers including creamed potatoes with tuna, lemon and a tail-on Ribeye steak, served with peppercorn or Béarnaise Sauce. They also have a valentine’s day deal which includes an absolutely divine Chargrilled Rack of Cumbrian Lamb or a Grilled half Lobster. Perfect for a more traditional romantic dinner in London for two, as the restaurant itself is stylish and discreet. Among the more expensive of restaurants, although this is thankfully an example where you get what you pay for.

The Bountiful Cow – Holborn
A converted 1960s pub described on their website as ‘a public house devoted to beef’, the Bountiful Cow while not quite a high end venue like the previous entries on our list, is still nice with it’s vintage film poster decorations and lively atmosphere. It certainly has it where it counts most however, the steaks and burgers offered here are big and tasty. Generous servings are standard here and it’s a meat heavy menu, including sirloin steak, rump steak, t-bone steak and a multitude of burgers and sandwiches. Prices are on the cheaper side so handy for people on a limited budget. Group bookings would be ideal here too.

Gaucho Restaurant – Tower Bridge
Serving quality beef from Argentina, Gaucho is a gorgeous South American restaurant with branches across London including Piccadilly, Charlotte Street, Tower Bridge, The O2 and more. Their satay marinated double lamb chop and Braised beef and Parmesan Raviolini are standouts and a must try. Their tower bridge and O2 locations especially are iconic and beautiful areas to enjoy a meat dish.

Benihana Restaurant – Piccadilly
This Japanese Steakhouse and Sushi Restaurant offers a whole range of meat dishes, including traditionals such as the Hibachi Teriyaki Sirloin Steak, Chateaubriand and a Hibachi Steak and Lobster Tail special. Cooked in front of you, this place is great to go with friends or groups and be entertained by the proactive and talented chefs. The foods here are full of flavour and well recommended.

Le Relais De Venise – Marylebone
A French Steakhouse, the Le Relais Venise takes the complexity out of eating by offering a more simple but exceptional menu. Based in Marylebone and more recently in Soho, foods such as their steak frittes with gravy is amazing, as is their other side helpings like fries, breads and salads. One of the best french restaurants in London, this is the place to go if you want good meat dishes without being overwhelmed by too much choice.

STK London – Strand
An American steakhouse with a classy setting, good steak and great service. Although more on the costly side, STK London based in Strand is worth it for the sheer chic spin on the traditional steakhouse style. They have quirky offerings such as the shrimp rice crispies, as well as excellent high-quality, hand raised meats. Enjoy Cowboy Steak, Welsh lamb loin and other main courses you won’t forget. They also run Valentine’s Day weekend deals and discounts off a special 3 course meal for two!
